In September 2023, Veolia Group took a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive work environment with the launch of Veolia Cares. It introduced a common core of benefits and protections for all employees to ensure everyone has the strength and solidarity to fight for ecological transformation.

In the coming years, ecology is expected to worsen due to the escalating impacts of climate change, habitat destruction, pollution and overexploitation of natural resources.

While this reality is daunting, humanity has faced and overcome formidable challenges before. After all, we have eradicated smallpox, revolutionized our world with innovations, like the World Wide Web, and united to combat global pandemics.

With that same spirit of collaboration and determination, at Veolia, we believe we can work together to turn the tide and build a sustainable, brighter future for all.

By uniting as individuals, businesses and governments, we can drive the adoption of sustainable practices and accelerate the transition to a more resilient and sustainable future. However, achieving this shared vision requires more than collective action — it requires equality.

Veolia Cares was born from this belief.

As part of Veolia, we believe the Group’s 218,000 employees — our community of Resourcers — are our greatest asset and that their strength will underpin the success of our ecological transformation mission. How? The mind of a Resourcer fuels our performance and development thanks to their innovative ideas, valuable insight and, above all, their unwavering determination.

To safeguard the professional and personal well-being of our greatest asset, we introduced Veolia Cares. Its sole purpose is to give all Resourcers a common core of employee benefits and support, regardless of their location in the world.

And so, since September 2023, across five continents, every Resourcer has had a common core of employee benefits: parental leave, health cover, a life insurance plan, support when acting as a caregiver, and a paid day off every year to volunteer with a charity or environmental protection organization.
